Brent Hallard is an artist living and working in San Francisco. He makes beautiful skeletal installations out of tape and other materials. They are very bare, and the forms depart from the grid in slightly odd, but strictly geometric shapes.
Of his work, Hallard states: "They appear abstract, and are, for that matter, just what they are, but… every time something moves it moves with history, moves out of one into another, and pulls at what already is, sometimes pushing what might or can be…" (Minimalissimo)
Brent recently participated in KOBE Biennale 2011, Kobe, Japan, and Never Underestimate a Monochrome at the UI Museum of Art. Recent curated events include Dripping Color Amazement, Galerie oqbo, Berlin, and A Romance of Many Dimensions, Brooklyn Art Space, NY.
